Autumn is a great time. Right before winter. You feel really revved up, like a squirrel gathering nuts before the coming cold weather. You feel like you better do what you gotta do before the year ends and a new one begins. Time to really write that great song, to write that great novel, to make a great baby, or whatever! Some people like the spring, but it's really the fall when everyone gets down and dirty. And the horse racing season ends, so you better catch that one last race where you can really cheer your baby on!
Strange Coversations>>> 21/08/04I can remember an old high school friend talking to me about term life insurance, home equity loan rates, college student health insurance,car insurance and I realized we would be better off talking about dating, girls, music, and all that good stuff. Funny how people get caught up in 'grown-up' things so fast. Ahh, the stuff of movies, good songs, and all the best things in life. Now that's what is good!
Let Martha Go! >>> 21/07/04Surely it is not a crime to work hard at what you love and protect yourself? This is all that Martha Stewart has done. She has not hurt anyone and she just likes to get things right. She is one of the finest people to come out of America. I strongly urge everyone to send emails to President Bush demanding a pardon for this wonderful woman. She, over 65 now, does not need to spend any time in prison. To live in America is sentence enough.

The Swing is the Thing >>> 30/07/04Watching his speech at the Democratic National Convention, it is clear that Bill Clinton would be his party's best candidate. Too bad he's not running for the presidency because he is still sooo smooth. Being charming and ebullient as if his life was on the line comes naturally to him. Yes, he's slick, sexy, and probably very deceitful, but his style is the real American way. It would be harder for terrorists to hate America with a lovable Elvis-like personality in the White House. In America, the 'swing is the thing'. Love him or hate him, when Barry Bonds steps up to the plate, he is a marvel to watch. Even in the ninth inning, with his team down by several runs, he stills acts as if he can save the day. And, for a moment, when you see the swing, you almost believe him--that total, all-or-nothing commitment. And when Bill Clinton speaks, he sounds like he really means it, and it doesn't matter that he's not the nominee. This is why Kerry will have a tough time-he acts so much like a politician. He is obviously very qualified, but, in America, it is stars who rule. People who exude the 'right stuff', people who seem glamourous and magical, even when they strike out, do drugs, drink and drive, etc. You can forgiven just about anything as long as you're not boring. In America, the 'swing is the thing'.
